Places of Tourist Interest in North Sikkim

Kabi Lungchok :

Kabi Lungchok is one of the historical places of immense importance, which is situated at a distance of seventeen kilometers North of Gangtok on the Northern Highway in northeastern of Sikkim. It is said about this place that "Treaty of Blood Brotherhood" was signed between the Lepcha and Bhutia's with religious fervour. There is a stone pillar that marks the exact location where treaty was signed. The beautiful forest of kabi Lungchok is famous for their numerous flora and fauna. The forest is an abode of around 22 tree species and thousands of birds. Therefore Bird watching is a popular activity here and other attraction here includes hidden caves and springs.

Singhik :

It is a small town in Mangan Subdivision, North Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is a heaven for the adventure enthusiasts. Yumthang Valley :

The Yumthang Valley or best known as Sikkim Valley of Flowers sanctuary, is a nature sanctuary with river, hot springs, yaks and grazing pasture on rolling meadows surrounded by the Himalayan mountains in the North Sikkim district of Sikkim state. The valley is blessed with a tree line and a vast stretch of a flowering valley which is beautifully ornamented with a dense bed of rhododendron flowers for miles which grow in many different colors such as purple, blue, red, pink etc.

Gurudongmar Lake :

Located at high altitude of approx 17000 feet, Gurdongmar Lake is one of the highest located lakes in the world. Snuggled by snow capped mountains, it lies in the North side of the Kanchenjunga Range. This lake is considered sacred lake as it freezes during the winter season except at one spot.
